Paper packaging fits perfectly into the circular economy. 100% recyclable, biology based and biodegradable. In fact, corrugated board packaging is one of the best processed paper products in the world, with a mature market for recyclable materials. Recycled paper and cardboard account for 88% of the raw material for new corrugated cardboard boxes, and efficient recycling processes allow the fibers to be reused for new packaging.

Waste paper recycling has many advantages, it reduces energy and water consumption while reducing the production of greenhouse gases and many air pollutants, such as Total Sulfur Reduction (TRS), Volatile Organic Chemicals (VOCs) and Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs). Cardboard recycling also reduces the need for virgin wood. About three tonnes of trees are needed to produce one ton of primary cardboard. Recycling also helps reduce fees for waste disposal. Recycling one ton of cardboard saves over nine cubic meters of landfill space.
